Great concept and play space. My kids really enjoyed the animals and the fun educational toys. It was also an easy ride on the bus from the upper west side. We added in lunch and a quick walk to a fantastic local playground with water to round out our afternoon.
Our 3 year old son attended camp at Art Farm and absolutely loved it! They had a wonderful curriculum with a mix of science, cooking, animals, art, outdoor play, and music. It was extremely well run/organized with great staff and communication. Would recommend 100%.
We came for a kid cooking class. We baked a delicious strawberry cake and went to see the animals. It was very pleasant time . My toddler was really proud of his cake and had it for desert. It was yummy.
Fabulous establishment! Great teachers. My 4 year old love cooking class and art class.
Had my daughter’s 4th birthday here and it was a great time. The staff keep everything so organized that we could just relax and enjoy the party. The animals were a hit and you can tell they are well cared for.
Update: New staff in charge. Get it in writing how many kids they will allow to participate since they sent an invoice later that said more kids could have come than the original limit. Not as organized anymore but still fun.
Past review: A+ for birthday parties. Every one of the staff was enthusiastic and look like they honestly enjoyed what they were doing. They have it down to a science how long each activity should take while one person is setting up for the next one and someone is cleaning up from the previous one and the options are age appropriate and take into account their attention spans. The parents can sit back and participate with their child instead of worrying about the party. It was the perfect blend of craft, animal facts and petting them, music and dance, and food. And even if children were shy and didn't want to touch the animals, the staff knew how to give them attention anyways without making them anxious.
I first went here pre pandemic with my then 8 month old. We went for the open play and to see the animals. There were maybe two other children there, both toddlers. My daughter and I played in the open space for a bit. There were many toys for her to choose from. Then we went to the room where the animals were. One employee took us around to each animal, this included: iguanas, birds, a tortoise, a chicken, rabbits, and maybe a few others. My daughter interacted with each animal. It’s was really nice. We’ve since visited again. The home location is under renovation and the temporary location is right on the same block. The experience, of course, is different. I was expecting to go back and see the same animals. (Shame on me for expecting anything to me the same.) That was not the case. A woman came with 4 animals, a lizard, a dove, a gerbil, and beetles. My daughter is now 18 months and this did not capture her attention quite the same. She was much more active and didn’t really want to wait for the animals to come her way in the rotation. There’s still a nice big space for playing as well as arts and crafts. This second time was more on the ok side, but we’ll try it out again.
Great place for littles up to age 5/6. We’ve been coming to the Art Farm for years over many spaces. A great way to spend an Hr or two
